Effects of temperature on the ohmic internal resistance and energy loss of Lithium-ion batteries under millisecond pulse discharge

Abstract Battery energy storage technology has a promising future in the field of compact high-power pulse drivers due to its high density. In this paper, three types high-performance lithium batteries, such as titanate (LTO) battery, iron phosphate (LFP) and Ni,Co,Al (NCR) ternary lithium-ion have been studied different ambient temperatures by using DC internal resistance measurement method. The result shows that ohmic batteries increases when temperature drops. When is above -30 °C, resistances battery are nearly identical.
